You’ll Need:
36 slices Wonder® Classic White Bread
12 oz softened cream cheese
1/3 cup granulated sugar, divided, plus 2 tbsp
1 tbsp lemon zest
1/4 cup blueberry preserves (or jam)
1/4 cup strawberry preserves (or jam)
1/4 cup raspberry preserves (or jam)
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
5 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
Follow these steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 350° F. Stack two pieces of bread on top of each other and use a rolling pin to flatten. Trim the crusts, then separate the individual slices. Repeat with the remaining bread.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, and lemon zest. Mix well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and 2 tsp of cinnamon. Set aside.
3. Use a spatula to spread about 2 tsp of cream cheese mixture across a slice of flattened bread. Top with 1 tsp of strawberry preserves. Repeat with remaining bread for blueberry and raspberry preserves.
4. Tightly roll each slice of bread and place seam-side down so they stay closed.
5. In a small bowl, mix together 2 remaining tbsp of granulated sugar and the remaining 3 tsp of cinnamon.
6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set a 3-inch wide bowl in the center of the pan. Dip each roll-up in the custard, allowing any excess to drip off. Arrange 12 roll-ups around the bowl on the prepared baking sheet. Brush all over with custard and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar. Repeat with remaining roll-ups, then remove the bowl from center of the ring.
7. Bake Rolled French Toast Wreath for 22-25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven, then replace bowl in the center of the wreath and fill with maple syrup. Enjoy!
