Labor Day - Sausage and Pepper Dogs

Time to let the dogs out! This Labor Day, savor your 3-day weekend with these Sausage and Pepper Dogs on Wonder® Classic Hot Dog Buns. Take Monday off to enjoy this tasty recipe with friends and family!

You’ll Need:

Chipotle Aoli

• 1 lime to juice

• 1/2 cup mayo

• 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1/4 teaspoon chipotle powder

• Pinch of salt

Sausage and Pepper Dogs

• 4 Wonder® Classic Hot Dog Buns

• 4 Italian chicken sausages

• 1 red bell pepper

• 1 yellow bell pepper

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

• 1/2 white onion

• Chopped cilantro leaves

Follow these steps:

1. To make the chipotle aioli, combine lime juice, mayo, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chipotle powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

2. Slice the peppers and onions.

3. Preheat a grill or a pan to medium high heat.

4. Saute the peppers and onions in olive oil until softened. Remove from heat.

5. Thoroughly cook sausages on the grill or in a separate pan. Set aside.

6. Lightly toast your Wonder® Classic Hot Dog Buns on the grill or pan for 30 seconds.

7. Place your cooked chicken sausages in the toasted buns and top with your desired amount of peppers, onions, chipotle aioli, and cilantro.
