These Hot Dog Mummies make it easy to wrap up Halloween dinner—literally! To get your family excited for the spookiest dinner of the year, have them gather ‘round the dinner table to help prepare the ingredients (don’t worry, there’s only four), and best of all, personalize their mummies!

Wrapped in Cheese, Please!

Think fast—what’s the easiest way to get everyone on board with what’s for dinner? That’s right: cheese! Start off by slicing cold American cheese into thin strips, then let them come to room temperature while your hot dogs cook. With a little bit of imagination, these strips of cheese help your dinner come alive as mummy wrappings! After cooking your dogs and allowing them to cool, carefully wrap these cheese strips around, leaving space for a face!

You’ll Need:

• 1 Pack of Wonder® Classic Hot Dog Buns

• 1 Pack of hot dogs

• 1 Pack of white American cheese slices

• Sliced black olives, divided into 8 pieces each (for eyes)

Eyes on Your Own Food

We’re about to break the cardinal rule of dinner: let’s play with our food. Carefully cut out cheese circles and place them in that open spot we mentioned earlier, then gently push two bits of olives—one for each circle—into the “eyes.” Voila! You’ve got a mustard-ready mummy (if you so choose.) Using a pair of eyes as your jumping-off point, start personalizing your mummies! Does every mummy at your table have two eyes? Why not just one, or one extra? Got a ketchup smile? A relish-striped sweater?
The only limit is your imagination!

Follow these steps:

1.     Cut cold cheese into thin strips and leave out to allow them to reach room temperature.

2.     Cook hot dogs, then let cool until slightly warm. Wrap cheese strips around hot dogs.

3.     Cut out small round pieces of cheese, then place olive bits in center of circles to make “eyes.”

4.     Place “mummies” into Wonder® Classic Hot Dog Buns, finish with any optional toppings, and enjoy!
