Flowers Foods recently received several shipments of inferior yeast from a supplier, which impacted the quality and disrupted production of foodservice and retail bread and buns at some of our bakeries. Consumers reported instances of unsatisfactory smell and taste in products containing the inferior yeast.
Here’s what you need to know:
– The yeast supplier confirmed the yeast is safe for consumption.
– We have arranged for an alternate supplier of yeast and are working to replace products containing the inferior yeast.
– We expect all of our bakeries to return to normal operations in the next few days.
